A versenyző egy hordót tart maga előtt nyújtott vagy enyhén hajlított karral. A hordó nagy terjedelme miatt a súlypont messze kerül a testtől, ami óriási terhelést ró a hát alsó szakaszára és a vállakra.

Barrel holding is a truly grueling strongman event. The competitor who holds the barrel the longest receives the mostpoints. The exercise is valid only if the hands are held out in front and the head is resting against the backrest.
